What can I do about faulty earrings?

I bought a pair of pearl stud earrings (£65) from a local independent jewler in Feb 2012 and have just returned them for repair for the third time (one of the pearls keeps falls off the earring setting).
Luckily, I have found the pearl each time it has fallen off, but fear if it happens again, I won't and it won't be replaced. In anycase, I'm not confident to wear them anymore and wish I had bought a fake pair and saved my money!
Can anyone tell me where I stand re earrings and the timescale?
Thanks,
Ruth

Given that you have had these earrings repaired three times it might be worth writing to the jeweller and claiming a refund under the Sale of Goods Act (SoGA) as the goods are not of satisfactory quality. Outline the chain of events including when they had the earrings back for repair.
You can then request a refund, though this may not be for the full purchase price, given that you have had use of them for over a year.
This is the advice given to traders and outlines their duty to their customers; pages 10 and 11 are pertinent to your problem.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
