Sorry to hear about your DH. Glad you managed Christmas Skype though. Christmas day doesn't always have to be 25th December. I've learnt that a lot this year x

Along the lines of what some people will do to get out of peeling sprouts :D.

Hope he makes a good recovery.

There has already been a lot of that GG :D thanks again for all the well wishes

Well operation clear up has started  I've done about 3/4 of one room  just having a coffee break before getting back to work. I have so many cardboard boxes there is no way they are going to fit in the recycling bin so there will be a trip to the tip for us this afternoon. Homes have been found for some of the new toys and I have my eyes on a few old toys to get rid of once the kids are back at school  I will need to get a couple more storage baskets though as the dinosaurs and Peppa pig don't have a home yet :rotfl:

I've done one load of laundry and have actually put it on the washing line as it's bright and breezy here :T (no snow for us sadly :()it gets it out of my way too even if it doesn't get dry :p I have another load in the machine at the moment which will have to go on the airer. I may do another load tomorrow and see if my mum will take it home to dry :o good old mum :T:D

I feel like reading some lifestyle blogs to get me in the mood for a fresh start in January so if anyone can recommend any I'd appreciate that

I have loads of Christmas dinner leftovers in the fridge so will need to have a think what I can do with them...it will be a tirkey sandwich for lunch though as I haven't had one yet...yum

I'd better get back to work now

Christmas dinner pie? - uses up basically all the leftovers - turkey, veg, potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets, gravy - chopped up into bite size pieces and put in a dish, topped with puff pastry (or mash if you have loads of that) and is a really easy (and relatively quick) all-in-one dinner :) x

I was thinking of a pie Greent but I haven't had chance to make any pastry today so I'm just going to go for Christmas dinner number 2 tonight :T If there's anything left over after tonight it can all go into a pie for tomorrow and then hopefully I'll have room in my fridge again :T although I really don't want to have to go shopping for a while ( apart from for fresh stuff) as the freezers are pretty full too, i'm hoping to last until the new year with what I've got in :)

Today has been Ds's 3rd birthday so there has been much excitement in the house again, thankfully there aren't too many new toys to find homes for as most things can be absorbed into boxes we already have :T he's also had some new clothes which is always appreciated and I hopefully won't have to buy him anything new until the spring/ summer.

I did manage to nip into Next for their sale today and spent £40 on onesies for the girls, 2 jumpers, slippers and a gift for the present box. In hindsight I should have kept the onesies for the girls birthdays at the end of Jan but never mind. They've got them now :o I was after wrapping paper for next Christmas but I didn't get any, there's still time to get some though:)

Another visit to the hospital to see dh today and I didn't get a coffee while I was there :T that's at least £2.50 saved :rotfl: i'm bloomin fed up of driving there and back now though. I just want him home :( still no sign of that happening yet though

Do you have a travel mug or flask you could take with you?

Hopefully you'll have news soon when he can come out (or maybe even to a closer hospital?)

I do have a flask, I'll try and remember to take it - yesterday I made dh share his thimble sized hospital issue coffee with me, we had about a mouthful each :rotfl:

I feel like I've had a productive day but to look at the house you wouldn't think so :o

I think a list to help me see what I've achieved would be a good thing
    • Taken all cardboard boxes to the tip
    • Washed and changed children's bed sheets
    • Popped to tesco to get fruit and bread
    • Took the children and the dog to the park for fresh air and exercise
    • Made 2 turkey pot pies, one for dinner and one for the freezer

I feel quite pleased with that lot really :T

I spent less than £20 in tesco and that included £6 on slippers, I need to take the pair I brought yesterday back to next as they are too small.

Tomorrow I am meeting a friend at a nice garden centre so I will be on the look out for any bargains (I'm only going to buy things I actually need though :D) I'm hoping to use the last of the turkey in a curry tomorrow, there should be plenty for a double batch and then that is the last of the christmas food (apart from the cheese and the chocolates :o)

Hi Crumpets, found your diary a few days ago and have caught up with first few and last few pages. You are doing great with sales, de-cluttering and OP's.

Sorry to hear of DH ice-skating accident and injury, hope you still managed a good Christmas.

Not so much a blog but there is fab facebook page and website called 'a bowl full of lemons'. There are some brilliant de-cluttering and organisation tips and challenges on there.

That is very true - for a series of childhood Christmas's there was always something that went wrong. There was the one where I had measles, the one where my mum had flu and had to be propped up to make the Christmas pud, the one where my dad put his back out, the one where my dad cut off the top of his finger:eek:, the one where my dad was in hospital after a road accident.

If it's any consolation we did laugh about it all in future years, although it was traumatic at the time.

    Best wishes for 2015
