I made another op of £84 today :T That will probably be it for this month now - £498.75 in total for this month, my best month so far this year :T

It's been a MSD today, I took Ds swimming this morning which he absolutely loves, in fact he cried his eyes out when it was time to get out. I had to take dd1 to get her friend a present for a party she's going to tomorrow. I spent £8 on 3 nail varnishes, nail varnish remover and a nail file. I need to get my present box stocked up with gifts for pre teen girls, I'm thinking jewellery, purses, nail varnish etc. I'll keep my eyes open.

Yesterday I managed to finish the wallpaper stripping and today I've made a start on staining the beams :T it's hard work though, I've got a bit of a crick in the neck now :rotfl: I'll hopefully finish the first coat tomorrow, I think it will need 3 coats at least, it's going to take a while.

We've sorted out the eBay problem and dh is delivering the item to the buyer tomorrow and I've also won a violin for dd1 (£22.50) that we'll hopefully collect on Sunday.

    Friday night film is Inkheart

Come on, there must be another £1.26 lurking about somewhere :rotfl:.

Another busy weekend in Crumpet cottage, pretty low spend though :T yesterday my parents came to visit, bringing gifts from their holiday. I always do luch when they come and I managed to scrape together a rather nice lunch, jacket potatoes stuffed with bacon and cheese followed by a lemon Victoria sandwich that the little ones helped me make :D I felt rather pleased with myself :rotfl:

Dd1 had a birthday party to go to but I had to collect her early as she was feeling poorly :( she came back and slept on the sofa for a bit and luckily we were all able to go to another party we'd been invited to. It was a barn dance and absolutely brilliant fun! It also had a free bar so our £20 budget stayed intact :D :T

Today I've been to collect dd1's new violin (paid for using last nights beer budget :D) I think we got a really good deal, it came with a music stand and 10 music books and she's really pleased with it. Let's hope she sticks with this hobby! I already have a music stand from when I was at school so I'll try and sell it on FB tomorrow as it's no longer needed.

Dd1 has also made some gingerbread men today using a mix from Approved Food, great for her lunch boxes but unfortunately she smashed my ceramic rolling pin  that girl is a disaster zone with anything breakable! She really enjoys watching Bake off and has taken to sitting in front of the oven whilst things cook...even though we don't have a window in the oven :rotfl:

The decorating is coming along, I need to finish the beams and woodwork before next weekend as I have some friends coming to help paint the walls in exchange for feeding :) I think I might need to buy another small tin of stain which is annoying but can't be helped.

  • Hope DD1 is better now? I love the thought of her sitting in front of the closed oven :rotfl:. I hope she gets your money's worth out of the violin - I don't envy you with practising round the house, a recorder is bad enough :D

Well done on the OPs, you've had a stonking month :T

If you're after nail polishes TK Maxx can be good, QVC have sets for Today's Special Values periodically that work out cost-effective with professional brands like Leighton Denny - not that your average 10 year old is going to know the difference between Nails Inc & Rimmel I suppose!

Hope you have another productive week :)

Hi Rt, thanks for asking after Dd, she has a cold which she is thinks is serious enough to have time off school for...obviously being a mean mother she has gone to school :rotfl:

Well we seem to be at that stage of decorating/sorting where it has got to get worse before it can get better  because I've been concentrating my efforts on the decorating the other household jobs (apart from washing) have been neglected so that my house is a total state :o it's getting me down a little bit but I can't do much about it. Hopefully by this time next week things will be settling down.

I'm still sorting out my NCT NNS stuff, I've found a few more toys to add to the pile. I'm being ruthless now, I'm fed up of keeping hold of things because they get used for 5 minutes here and there...if it's not played with regularly, it's going :p I thought I'd try a couple of things on FB before the sale so I listed a high chair and Easel yesterday but I've had zero interest. I'm going to try the walker today and if it doesn't go it can all go the the NNS. I really don't get why I can't sell stuff on FB, it seems that 99% of the stuff on there sells <shrug>

I popped into town this morning to get some toiletries etc and my Approved Food order has arrived so I'm well stocked up on all manner of things now. Lots of lunch box treats from AF so I must hide those before the girls get home :D I have some veg soup cooking at the moment, although my soup maker is broken so I'm pretty gutted about that. I need to dig out the guarantee as we only got it for Christmas last year and I really love it!

It was dd2's harvest festival this morning and her class performed a little song in the church, it was so lovely :) there is a farmers market on at school this afternoon so I'll need a few £ for that. All the money raised gets sent to a chosen charity, so it's for a good cause.

It's getting really chilly now, especially at 7:30am when dd1 leaves for school (7 degrees this morning ) so I'm going to take her to get a coat after school today. I'm watching some on eBay for dd2 but I don't think I can get away with it for dd1. It's turning out to be quite a spendy day .

  • Crumpets I'm laughing here as I have been repeatedly having the same rant as you re: the toys - I had a porch full of boxes yesterday packaged up, DS arrived home from school & as he moved to look in them I said "don't touch anything - it's all going!" rather dramatically  :D. I said to him that if we don't clear out all the [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] baby/toddler toys then he can't have as much for Xmas as we simply won't have the room [STRIKE] terrible mother [/STRIKE] ;) He thought for a moment then, gesticulating wildly, said "Mum: sell everything - chuck it all out" :rotfl:

Hope DD1's cold improves, my two are full of it & DD seems worse today then yesterday :(

Harvest Festival sounds sweet! It's DS' tomorrow, they're doing it for an animal charity, I had to buy cat food for the first time ever :p

I've never had a soup maker, are they good? Before the diet I was addicted to carrot & cream cheese soup [STRIKE] mmmmm have to stop talking about it[/STRIKE] :p
