I've had a look on eBay but no lid at the moment, I'll keep looking though, dh has glued it together so it will do for now
This half term is turning out to be very wet and miserable, yesterday wasn't too bad, we went on the local steam railway with my parents which the children enjoyed. I spent £18 on lunch as I didn't have anything in to make a picnic:mad: I also managed to leave my purse in the cafe and I didn't realise until I got home late afternoon:eek: luckily I drove straight back there and my purse had been handed in...phew
Today is a very grey and wet day, I went to the local garden centre with a friend for a cup of tea whilst the little ones played in the play area, she brought the tea so the only spend was on some sweets for the children. I did have to cough up £5 of pocket money to dd1 though as I hadn't given her any for a couple of weeks  and she immediately spent it on a cuddly toy:eek: as if we haven't got enough of those at home!
It's my mums birthday today so this afternoon I'm going to make her a cake and we'll take that and her cards around to her, she is staying in a holiday cottage about 20 minutes away which is great as I can't just pop round normallyunfortunately her perfume hasn't arrived in the post yet so she'll have to have it next week.
I've put an order in for some grocery shopping to be delivered to our holiday cottage when we go in two weeks. There is only one shop that you can order from and by just ordering some basics, tea, biscuits bread and butter etc it came to over £40:eek: I can't imagine we'll do much cooking but it will be nice to take picnics for lunch etc but at these prices I'm not so sure! Still I'm very excited about going
We have my mil's birthday garden party on Saturday and I'm having a bit of a crisis about what to wear, I was just going to wear jeans but it turns out other people are getting a bit more dressed upI might need to go and buy a new outfit, I will do so as frugally as possible though:cool:

Great news re: purse - my faith is always restored in the goodness of people at things like that
Re: birthday party - how abut something like jeans and a nice floaty top and wedge sandals or similar? (Wedges make it dressier but are more practical than 'proper' heels in a garden lol!)
And food shopping for holiday - prices are ridiculous!x

Hi Crumpets, I've been reading though not found time to post! Are you any further along with flights? We're just starting to think about hols, we'll stay in this country & are quite lastmin.com with our plans
. Not cheap whatever you do, esp in school hol time grrrr
Glad the BBQs have gone well & sounds like you've got some bargs on the DM/DMIL pressie front!
Am also impressed with your domestic improvements! We've done nothing since the shed-back disaster.
Good luck on the eBaying :money:. I was going great guns but it seems to have slowed a bit nowLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
No, no further along with the flights, I really need to know the school holiday dates which we won't get until September so that gives us a few months to come up with a cunning plan:)
We have a busy weekend planned, we are camping at my mil's this weekend so I have spent the morning getting everything organised, dh has gone on a log hunt so we can have a fire ( gotta keep warm:D) tomorrow I have a 1st birthday party to attend in the morning and my mil's 60th in the afternoon/evening so we're busy busy. At least it looks like it will stay dry!
I went shopping yesterday for an outfit to wear and failed in being frugal:eek::cool: actually the outfit wasn't too expensive, a jumpsuit from DP with 20% off, it was the other items of clothing that also made it home that jumped the price upI have a wedding to attend in August so I'll wear the jumpsuit to that too and the other items are for my holiday.
Yesterday I helped my friend to turn up her curtains and it turned into a mammoth task as there were 3 pairs of extremely long curtains that needed altering, 3 curtains down 3 to go:eek: I need to get them done for her sons party in the morning too - looks like I'll be taking my sewing machine with me.
Lunch time now

I think you were planning on going next year? Term dates set by the council for Worcs until 07/2016 can be found here: http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/cms/school-information-for-parents/school-term-dates.aspx
Schools may vary slightly to this by their inset days but not much, Should give you a fairly decent idea of approx. datesx

DP's have a handbag I've got my eye on Crumpets
Just tried twice to check out the House of Fraser sale but it's crashed, maybe your praise for it has made it 'go viral' :rotfl:Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
For future reference curtains are best altered from the top - just unpick the header tape, measure twice, cut off your excess and then pin the tape back in place and whizz through the machine. Easier than it sounds honest."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Hope you're having a good camp Crumpets - looks like decent weather for it at least

I'm back after a brilliant weekend, Juat a quick update tonight,
- £4 into the camping fund :T
- Brought home a bag of leftover booze from the party:T
- No food in the cupboards when we got back so had to pop to the local shop
I'm going on a spa day tomorrow that I booked a while ago on a deals site, I'm using my birthday money to pay for that and any extra treatments...can't wait
