Printer recomendation?

Can anyone recomend a good colour/black,white printer in the £50 to £70 area. Current one (HP photosmar 7260) keeps on paper jamming and generally messing about. My wife is a teacher who is usually very calm and collected but fighting with the printer after a hard days work realy stresses her out (understandably).

All advice gratefuly recieved. Neil

HP's can suffer roller degradation and some models suffered from a hardware failure which caused them to jam repeatedly, newer HP models are normally ok, Epson and Canon are also ones to look at. Steer clear of Lexmark though as the carts are very expensive even though the printers are cheap.

My 7260 was a right beggar for doing that as well. Like yourself I gave up in the end. I tried an Epson but I don't do a great deal of printing and made the mistake of buying "compatible" cartridges which apparently weren't and the jets blocked. Eventually seetled for an H.P. all in one 'cos I was having a few conflict probs with the scanner. I know that H.P. cartridges are pricey but for the amount of printing that I do, they literally do last me years.

HP compatible carts seem to work well enough for most people, we use them here without issue.

It was the Epsom compatibles that screwed up, I've never had any probs. with H.P. compatibles.
