Debt Collectors letter from Parking Ticket

Hi, everyone.

My dad (he's not very good on computers so i'm asking this for him) got a PCN from Vehicle Control Services (VCS) about 2 months ago.
I told him not to pay it as they have to right to charge him as they are a private company, showed him the forums and even the Watchdog video about private parking companies.

He received a letter yesterday from Roxburghe Debt Collectors saying he needs to pay £160 for their client VCS. I've told him to ignore it.

Can anyone else confirm for me that it's ok to ignore this as he is panicking.

Thanks.

Your Dad is too far down the road to do anything other than 'Ignore' (whatever you do, please don't let him pay these extortionists).

Roxburghe are just Debt Collectors, they have no powers. Send them a short letter:

    Dear Roxburghe

    Reference xxxxx

This debt is denied. Refer this back to your client and don't contact me again. Any further contact from you, or your agents, wil be deemed to be harassment and appropriate action against you will be taken.

    Yours faithfully

BLOCK CAPS NAME no need to sign.

You may still get further letters from Graham White Solicitors (aka Michael Sobell - an ancient solicitor making his signature available to this outfit). Equally ignorable. And most likely coming of the end of the threatograms to your Dad. They'll go and find somebody else instead.

The only papers NOT to ignore are County Court papers from Northampton court. Highly unlikely that VCS will put this to a judge after their absolute spanking in two cases at the County Court and the Upper Tribunal Tax and Chancery Chamber. Read here:

    VCS -v- HMRC

    VCS -v- Ibbotson

I have been following this forum as I had a letter delivered to me on the 11th Feb demanding I pay a fine I wasn't even aware I had incurred .There are other people at my work that have had similar letters from a debt collection agency . I've just posted a reply as you advised with my fingers crossed that I keep my nerve with the threats.
    Thanks

Hi there, please see my posts on here by searching "Sobell" in the main forum, or the same over on cag

Roxburghe's credibility is Zero since i spanked em twice in court.. As for VCS pmsl no way will they want to go near any court as stated in the cases above by another member....Roxburghe have just aquainted a new firm of solicitors in Stratford upon avon who finally decided that they did after all represent roxburghe when asked.....Hummmm.. How will this work then ?? First You have the Landowner, Then VCS, Then Roxburghe then Maybe a solicitor of some sort who fires off a claim....Surely that's a third party claim...

You could always write to Roxburghe and state that in view of their behaviour and conduct in the matter of East Kent Hospitals Vs Fever 2013 and their failure/ refusal to pay a court order after losing the case, you have no intention of paying anything :money:
