MBNA - what are they up to?

Hi All
Just a warning really. A couple of months ago I was contacted by MBNA as potentially having been missold PPI. I filled in the form and submitted it about a month ago.
Since then I've received two text messages from them asking for more information. So today I called them. They weren't asking for additional information, simply cross-examining me by repeating questions I've already answered on the form. After the third question I'd had enough and told them if they had genuine need of extra information (i.e. stuff I haven't already provided on the form) they can WRITE to me to request but given that I've already completed the claim form in full I expect them to assess and respond to my claim in the mandatory 8 week period.
What on earth are they up to???

They are making legitimate requests for more information. What on earth are they up to???
Relying on letters will just slow down the complaint process still further-surely you don't want that?
All that is required is that you answer honestly any questions they ask, if you don't know an answer then simply state this.
If you have a valid complaint then it will be (eventually) upheld. If you don't then it will be rejected.
The 'phone calls/texts are not some trap for the unwary complainant.
By the way, the 8 week period to consider any complaint is not "mandatory", if they fail to respond within that period the only sanction you could take would be to refer your concerns to FOS.0 -
I have already answered the questions honestly on the form.
They agreed I have already answered them and filled the form in fully.
Why are they asking exactly the same questions again?0 -
Because they want to and because they can. Perhaps you haven't answered fully enough or there is some clarification required.
Why are they asking exactly the same questions again?
Personally, I'd be complying fully with any such request they make. Refusing to assist with their enquiries simply delays their eventual response to your complaint. If you have already answered their queries then simply re-state them as you did on the form.
I think you are just making things difficult for yourself...0
