indian online purchase refund???

Hi,
I bought a meditation course to take place in India in October online on Saturday from an Indian organisation and then realised that I'd budgeted incorrectly due to a big direct debit having not left my account.
I would like to cancel this course now because I've no money for the rest of the month(!) but have been advised that it is non-refundable. I bought it on my debit card.
Do I have any rights at all please?

Doubtful. Remember you are not dealing with UK consumer law here so there is probably no cooling off period.

You would have to look into Indian law regarding the right to cancel. In this country you would not be able to cancel without showing a breach of contract or a DSR cooling off period.
Indian contract law is similar in many ways to ours though so your chances are slim.

Your best plan is likely to ask the organisation if you can defer to save up another few months to get yourself stable.

FWIW you can live on a few quid a day in large parts of India, so the bulk of your costs will be flights, jabs and visas. Visas are essential. Get the right jabs for your area you're visiting. Flights via the Middle East are dirt cheap.
