The rate will be be rubbish but for a small amount you'll only lose £1 or so.

Yes but that's a sandwich (59p) a can of cola (22p) (both at Lidl in France) and 19p change.

Or stick an extra 30p and you can get a bottle of wine instead.

The word ONLY usually starts to ring alarm bells :D

I do see your point though even though I'm not as weathy as you.

France is where we discovered Lidl, and it is a good source of food and drink (particularly well priced red wine) when you are travelling.
I would advise folks to buy Euros before they travel, and then use their credit card for the tolls and other big spending, because debit cards seem to attract three different charges in addition to the purchase price.
Buy petrol at supermarkets and check this out first:

This is often updated on a daily basis.

If you want a good picnic, then you have to buy a supermarket rotisserie chicken, they are the "nat's nadgers", so full of flavour.

That's cos you waste it with FairFX cards and suchlike, you've not been listening to Nifty. Think of all the wine you could have bought:beer:

It depends what debit card (and what credit card). You won't get better value than Metrobank debit card.

I have to say that the Nationwide credit card was pretty good on the last few trips. The exchange rate was great and there were no charges at all. The other good thing about it, was that it was accepted everywhere we went.

Yes the Select card is good for spending. Their normal card you need to build up a "commission free " allowance I think.

But they're both expensive for cash advances. Clarity or Metrobank for cash. Or if you have the NW FlexPlus account you can get cash out free with the debit card.
