Breaking into a locked Filing Cabinet?

We have a large, 4 drawer filing cabinet in the garage. We're moving and don't want to take it with us, but we do NEED the stuff inside it (driving licences etc).
Trouble is, we think the keys have been thrown away - we've searched every inch of the house and no sign. So we're going to need to break into it! I had a quick try with a screwdriver and mallet but it wouldn't budge...
Called a locksmith yesterday to be told they could "gain access to the unit" for £65 PLUS VAT!!!
Anyone have any other ideas? Is there a knack to busting one of these open?

You could pick the lock in seconds. Plenty of how to do videos on youtube.Be happy...;)0

How much do you value the cabinet? Brute force with a pry bar will get you in but will leave damage.
Other option is to drill the lock out. Just get a decent drill bit and drill the lock out.
Or as above learn to pick the lock.0
