pcn nw parking ticket & subsequent letters from roxburghe & graham white solicitors

Hi everyone, im new to the site and was wondering if anyone cane give me some advice. Around 4 months ago i parked my car on my college car park and immediately bought a ticket from the machine and displayed this in my front window. This ticket enabled me to park until midnight. It was issued at 8.50am. I returned to my car later that day to find a pcn from pcn nw qouting that i hadnt displayed a valid parking ticket. Also to mention a few others received tickets on the same day too whilst having a valid ticket, including a tutor. My parking ticket was still on display in my window. I had a look on the net at various sites for help, including this one and the general opinion was that its a scam and dont even reply. So i ignored it. Around 6 weeks passed and i got a letter from roxburghe debt collection agency demanding payment and qouting that they had photographic proof of not displaying my ticket. My step mum rang them, she used to chase money, but legally, so no scamming, and told them to email this photographic proof and if we were happy that the ticket wasnt displayed we would pay the charge. The fella on the phone wouldnt but said there was a link to their website to view the photo's. The link he gave us didnt work, and everywhere i tried on their website i just couldnt find any link to any photo's. So again, the idea was to ignore it. Then this morning i received a letter from graham white solicitors who, acting on behalf of roxburghe, on top of the penalty notice charge which is now £160.00, have quoted additional costs if it goes any further to just over £207.00 and say it could prejudice future credit obtaining etc if it isnt paid . I didnt appeal the original 'notice' as all info looked into seemed to be just ignore them, that they are scamming and just sit tight and for all the scare tactics they will just give up as it will never get to court. But i havent seen anywhere where someone had a valid ticket, still got a pcn and the eventual outcome. Also, i havent admitted anything to them as there is nothing to admit, ie driver etc but do know that they can get your details off the dvla. Also noted that the address for pcn nw, roxburghe and graham white solicitors are all the same address. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

See this thread on pepipoo which sums up what I would have typed out! ''£207.25'' is legendary in that letter and they've used it for ever!

Relax, it's a scam and the OFT are currently 'minded to refuse to renew' Roxburghe's CCA licence (that's the sort of firm your step Mum rang up, which was pointless). Ignore it like people have done for years and years!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OP - next time you're in college, ask them to explain 'paragraphs'.:rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
