As the title really, does anyone actually know of one?
They don't list one on their website, just one of those bloody stupid boxes where you have to 'enter your question here' - has anyone ever actually found out what they wanted from one of those things?
I am well aware that I could call them but my question is quite specific and I very much doubt that whoever answers the call will have a bloody clue what I'm talking about.
Alternatively, on the off chance that anyone on here might know, my question is:
I am not yet a Lloyds customer but I'm thinking of applying for the Avios Duo card. These cards currently have a pretty decent Avios bonus for spending in the first three months (on the Amex card, spending on the Visa doesn't count). You must spend at least £500 on the Amex each month for the first three months to qualify for the bonus.
What I'd like to know is what they define as a month. Is it from the date of acceptance, the date of card activation or something else? There is no mention of this on the website terms and conditions and I have heard of people being denied the bonus because Lloyds were using different dates from what was expected. The spending itself isn't an issue but if it takes me two weeks to get the cards after being accepted, does that mean I only have another two weeks to make the £500 spend for the first month?
As I said, I very much doubt I'd get a straight answer (that I could trust) from a call centre. I'd like it in writing (albeit email) just in case of any misunderstanding later.

In my experience, with most cards - providing you don't request a different one - your account opening date is your statement date, ie you'll get your first statement exactly a month later.
The way I read the following...
...is that they're talking about statement periods.4 Customers who apply through Lloyds TSB and are accepted for the Lloyds TSB Duo Avios Credit Card Account by 31st July 2013 will be eligible for the 15,000 Avios bonus, if they spend £500 a month for the first 3 months on eligible purchases on their Lloyds TSB Duo Avios American Express Card from account opening date. The 15,000 Avios will show on the customer’s Avios account within 90 days of the qualifying spend being achieved.
So, if your account is opened on 18/6/13 your statement periods are:
18/6/13 - 17/7/13
18/7/13 - 17/8/13
18/8/13 - 17/9/13
Now bearing in mind that statement dates may change slightly (due to weekends, Bank Holidays, 'system' issues, etc), if I was borderline on the £500 per month I'd be trying to concentrate my spending in the middle 2-3 weeks of the statement period just in case.
That's my understanding, and I'd argue on that if I was declined the bonus points.
By the way, I can't see a way to ask the question either!0 -
Thanks. Yeah that would be my understanding as well although I've heard of people having problems. There also seems to have been some confusion on what constitutes 'during a month' - i.e. is it the date of the transaction or the date by which the transaction hits your statement (which could be a good few days later).
I'd still like to actually have it in writing of some kind but it looks as though that won't be happening.
I'm only applying for the card for the intro bonus, will probably cancel a couple of months after I receive the points - although might be worth keeping open if any decent Amex/Foursquare deals come along.
Ah well, think I'll just apply for it and buy £500 of tesco vouchers in the first month just to be certain!0
