Parking Invoice

Hello,
I received a parking invoice today from 'Parking Eye' I didn't actually park within the car park just drove to the top of the multi-storey to make a phone call.. a costly one at that. What should I do any advice would be extremely appreciated.
This parking fine has been tracked by an ANPR camera..
I would like to reply but would this then make me liable to pay due to acknowledging the invoice?

Read some of the posts, for heaven's sake. There is a wealth of information in them.
But important, how long were you in the car park? And be honest - we are trying to help.
Advice is best to appeal with a simple no-nonsense appeal expecting it to fail, and then come back with a POPLA appeal.
Stroma's standard initial appeal letter is as follows.
Name
Address
Date
Dear Scammers,
In regards to the invoice received with ref number xxxxxx dated xxxxxx, the keeper denies all liability to your company, if you reject this challenge the keeper requires within 35 days a popla verification code for them to appeal independently, per Version 2 of the BPA Code of Practice.
The keeper has nothing further to add, and will not respond to any correspondence from your company unless it contains the popla code. If you wish to find out why the keeper rejects all liability, pay the £27 plus vat to popla to find out
The challenge will be deemed accepted if there is no popla code on any rejection that you supply within the timeframe stipulated above.
Yours Faithfully

I have but as you can appreciate every case is different, I was in the car park for 35 Minutes.. I can't understand how they didn't know I hadn't purchased a ticket?
I think I had entered the car park once it was closed? Even though there is nothing stopping you?0 -

Nope not at this early challenge stage there NO DIFFERENCE in the advice:

Do as Stroma says - send a generic short challenge with NO INFORMATION ABOUT WHO WAS DRIVING OR WHAT HAPPENED and tell us when you get your POPLA code for the next stage appeal (as discussed on pretty much every other thread on this forum).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you, have you seen many people succeed and not have to pay the fine? + am I ok to contact them over the phone?0

Noooooooooooooo why the heck would you phone up Parking Eye? Do you reply to phishing emails too to discuss the scam?
And jeez, this IS NOT A FINE! No-one here pays a fake PCN, I have had two myself and I'm just an ordinary wife and Mum!
Read some current threads about this scam and stop thinking this is a normal company who will listen to you and just cancel it - of course they won't!
I repeat, at this early challenge stage there NO DIFFERENCE in the advice:

Thank you.
I should never have got the invoice in the first place I went in the car park to help a friend out who had broken down. I didn't actually leave the car park until leaving with my car.
I thought if I explained my situation they may listen?
Do you know how many letters they will send through to me?0 -
You are only looking at one letter, the rejection to you. They send that out whatever you write. So the rejection with the popla code is what you are looking for. When you get it please come back here for help to appeal to them, don't do it alone. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

PAH, hilarious, spat my tea out !!!! :rotfl::rotfl:Do you know how many letters they will send through to me?
Well you are not going to ignore them are you so obviously there will be a rejection letter to your generic challenge (DO NOT APPEAL ON ANY OTHER GROUNDS). There might be a generic PE 'reminder' rubbish letter too even though there shouldn't be...
And that will be all because you can then challenge it at POPLA with forum help to get that as strong as it can be. Then you will receive a copy of PE's 'evidence pack' for POPLA - you can laugh at their desperation and count all the wasted pages and man hours that they have expended!
Scam over when you win at POPLA but DO NOT send a weak appeal, not a normal 'let's see if they'll listen to what happened...' account!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
