Help PCN recd from Parking Eye £90 what do I do

Hi I have recd a PCN from Parking eye for an overstay of 52 mins (1:52 mins) 1 hr free. This is a retail site (two stores) and I was in one store all the time. The store took a long time to firstly recognise I needed serving and then to sort me out. Purchased items and have a receipt.

With this FOIM and POPLA coming in there is conflicting advise on a)ignore or b) appeal

Can anyone clarify and help. The amount is £90 (but £54 if I pay by the 13/6/13.:undecided:angry:

    1. Complain to the store. Get THEM to cancel the ticket.
    2. Appeal. Ignoring PE is no longer the recommended approach. When they reject the appeal, go to POPLA. PE will often cancel if you prove you were a customer of one of the stores, so a copy of the receipt may help.

At the end of the day, you won't be paying whatever happens.
  • Thanks for you reply - is the best approach email or letter. Or does it in fact not matter.

Email saves the cost of a stamp, and you have an audit trail.

Neither an email nor a certificate of posting actually prove that the messages was delivered or read but a certificate of posting provides a better & simpler audit trail as it doesn't require forensic examination of your computer &/or email service provider.

Same advice as just given here on a similar thread about another camera-based scammer. See the links and DO COMPLAIN to the Retail Park Management:

There is no conflicting advice. 'Ignore' was the old advice and 'appeal and then win at POPLA' is the current advice. SIMPLE. And there are loads of links to crib from!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Best to go in to the store, ask for the manager and let him see the colour of your eyes. To easy to sit on a letter or email.

Make it clear that you are not taking "NO" for an answer.
