Moving Sky Channels

on my menu I have BBC then Itv the channel 4 etc, a few pages down I have ITV1 HD BBc HD etc.

When I put the tv on I hardly ever use the HD ones simply I forget.

Is there a way I can move the channels around on my menu? I would like BBC1 HD where BBC1 is ITV HD where ITV is etc so I can just put them on rather than scanning through a few pages

Firstly, you cannot move the channels around, they are detirmined by their channel number which are universal across all sky boxes.
You could set them as favourite channels and then to switch you simply need to go to favourites.
I hope Sky might adjust it manually in future, until last year 401-404 were standard definition sky sports channels and the HD channels were lost in higher channels, but now on the HD box 401-404 is Sky Sports HD 1-4, and standard def are in the old slots, however not everything on the BBC is in HD, so making 101 on the sky HD box as BBC One HD would mean you would still need to access the standard defination channel for some programs (local news etc).

but set channels as favourites and it will make searching simpler for you

As far as I know channel numbers vary slightly between HD and SD boxes.

On my HD box 401 to 404 are Sky Sports HD 1 to 4.

On my friend's SD box 401 to 404 are Sky Sports SD 1 to 4.

BBC, ITV etc HD and SD channel numbers are the same on both boxes. It is only the Sports channel numbers that appear to differ although there may be others that I haven't noticed.

if you have a HD subscription the HD channels are defaulted to what has historically been the SD default, i.e if you have a HD subsciption bbc1 HD will be 101. Having a HD box and no HD subscription will not activate this feature...or so I believe

I remember vaguely reading something about this once on Sky's website. It's something to do with the rights that Sky signed up to for broadcasting other channels. So while they are free to move their own around as they have for Sky Sports and Movies, the other HD channels appear in the order in which they began broadcasting in HD and Sky are unable to re-shuffle them.
