I will try and keep this short and simple! My bf's parents are going to london for a long week-end, this week-end coming, he wants to go down fri stay the night and see them on the sat. They are staying in a hotel on southwark street, and he'd like to get a hotel near them, he was also thinking of driving down. So my problem is how do I do all that, and try not to spend much money?? He's working away so I'm sorting it out! I was wondering if maybe would be cheaper to stay just outside london and go in on tube, if is one not to far!? Hope someone can help, my heads going round trying to look for hotels:eek:

Where are you coming from?
There's a Premiere Inn on Southwark Bridge Rd, just round the corner from Southwark St, but it's in South London, if you're coming from the north or west you've got to get to across central London to get to Southwark, not ideal on a Friday evening, but not to bad of you're coming from the east.
If you're coming from the north/west it would be far less stressful to stay on the outskirts and get a tube in in the morning, Southwark and London Bridge tube stations are both on the Jubilee line and LB is also on the Northern line, you should be able to get a decent rate at a hotel in Wembley if there's nothing onAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Thanks for your replies, I will have a look at them..peachyprice I forgot to say I'm coming from the north. That looks a better idea to me
staying on the outskirts. 0 -
Definitely, look for something on the Northern line around Brent Cross or Wembley, it's not far off the M1, then it's a 30min tube ride to Southwark.
There's a Travelodge and a Premiere Inn at Wembley or a Holiday Inn at Brent Cross, which is a bit more expensive.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Some information on tube station carparks:

I'm sure overnight parking is allowed, but perhaps you could phone NCP for your peace of mind.0 -
I have never had a problem leaving my car in a hotel car park I usually use Premier Inn.0
