Was just wondering where is doing the best Travel Insurance at the moment (price and benefits).

Check to see who the underwriter of the policy is first and search online for any reviews. Axa don't have the best reputation for their claims handling.

Annual or single-trip?

Endsliegh's customer service is second to none, good value for money and easy to claim.

Trailfinders is good for non-standard or for the more far flung places. More pricey but very good coverage. No experience of claims though.

The question is like "How long is a piece of string". Different insurance policies offer differing levels of benefits so you're really asking two questions. I would make a list of what cover do you want from your policy and then look for companies that provide it.
