Agency vs Independant

Hi all
I have a question
I am registered with an agency to help me find work. But I am also looking for work independently. Seems that the agency and I have both 'applied' for me the same job. I independantly applied for it a few days back, whilst the agency rang today to say they had put me forward.
Where do I stand? I approached the school before the agency allerted me them putting me forward. As my application went first do the school still have to pay a finders fee if I get the job? THe agency did reccomend me yes but I obviously applied first.

You should let the agency know immediately that you already applied for this job a few days ago, and that they don't represent you on this occasion.0

Thing is the interview for the agency is this week when i'm off work. THe interviews independantly are about a month away.0

Happened to me many a time. I would just have said that I do not wish you to represent me as I already have an application outstanding with that particular company. End of story0

And this is the same job?
Seems unlikely that a school would separate interviews for one job like that.0 -
According to the job advert:
Closing date: Wednesday 19th June 2013
Shortlisting: 20th and 21st June 2013
Interviews: Week commencing 24th June 2013
They want to interview me Wednesday this week. BOth for the same job.0 -
The agency role is probably temporary cover, until they recruit a permanent member of staff.0

Both jobs start September.0
