    When did the tenancy start? When does the fixed term end?

    He cannot evict you unless you don't pay the rent.

    You have a tenancy agreement and pay rent, therefore the property is legally yours for the duration of the tenancy. You can change the locks, refuse the landlord entry and call the police if he decides to enter the property. This is the case for the next 9 months, as long as you pay the rent. You are protected by the law.

    Sounds like a tricky one as it is your word against the landlord's given that he was paid in cash.

    I presume he never gave you receipts when you paid the rent?

    Do you have any email correspondence with the landlord in regards to your rent payments?
