nPower - New account, best way to contact?
Hi all,
Just moved in to a new flat and found out both our gas and electricity is with nPower. Our landlady phoned them over the weekend to confirm we were now living there and paid the outstanding amount up to the start of our tenancy.
Problem is we need to contact them, but we don't have an account number as of yet and our landlady has changed the account in to our name but says she has no idea what the account number is and instructed to call them and sort it out.
Every number we contact nPower through goes through an automated voice that asks us for the account number straight off. Any way around this? Or should I wait for a few days to see if they send something in the post due to the landlady moving the details of the property in to our name?
Sorry for the long message!
Oli

Good Afternoon OhLeePop,
Sorry to hear that you're struggling to get through to us. Our Moving Home number should have an option to go ahead without an account number.
My contact details are here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/member.php?u=799997&tab=aboutme&simple=1 if you'd like to send me the address details and query? I can then take a look into this for you.
Best wishes,
Adam“Official Company Representative"

Just to add, I very much doubt your "landlady has changed the account in to our name". You need to contact them yourself to do that.
All she has done is closed down her account (and perhaps passed on your names in the event you do fail to contact the supplier)0
