Getting rental deposit back

I was wandering what i will need to do to get my deposit back as i just keep getting passed back and forth between the agent and landlord.
Each of them saying they are waiting for the other to contact before doing anything and that i need to speak to them to move it along.
so when i contact the agent, they say i need to contact the landlord, and the landlord says i need to contact the agent and im just going round in circles

Have you claimed your deposit back from the protection-scheme yet? If not, do so right away.
Once you've done that WRITE to the landlord, sending a copy to the agent, and ask them to stop playing pass-the-parcel and authorise your deposit's return.0 -
As above, contact the deposit scheme where it is registered and request it is released to you.
Then write to the agent AND landlord and give then 10 working days to return the deposit before you take further legal action.0 -
I've not gone through the protection scheme yet, wanted to find out if there was something i might need to do before opening a dispute with them.
will contact them tonight0 -

But some of the schemes (DPS definately) require the tenant to complete part of the release process before they pay it back. Check the scheme's website to see what the status of the deposit is - it could be they need you to activate the release. You don't necessarily need to start a dispute yet - just check what is happening on their website!0
