I don't know what to do

The only affect his living with you will have is the Housing Benefit and possibly the council tax support. DWP will have no interest in him living in your house if he is not paying you as he is not a dependant.
As has been suggested being in receipt of the care element of DLA will negate the requirement for a non dependant deduction of HB, in addition as he is living in your extra bedroom you will no longer be required to pay the extra for an empty room (commonly known as Bedroom tax).
In which case just inform the Council tax dept if there is any impact, make sure you inform them of the change in writing and keep a copy in case of issues later. Your son can then just pay you any sum involved which maybe nothing."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Thank you, so the DWP have no interest it the equation, it's just the Council, so I may actually be better off by the reduction of the extra room subsidy, that would be a great, as then I could help him a bit more.0 -

That would actually help, because my husband does struggle with a 24/7 job and it would alleviate that pressure, my son would be more than happy to do that. Would that be allowed?
As sammyjammy says, you don't have to account for the reasons someone is living in your house, only their income, which won't be taken into account (though you still need to inform the council I would think).
I hope your mind is put at rest
I understand the pressure of wanting to help your adult kids but not being able to do so financially for reasons outside your control and I think it's great that the dla rules mean you can still offer some support. 0 -

It certainly has, thank you. You think when your children grow up that you are free to live your life, but it's true what they say, it gets worse.
I will contact the council and discuss with them, I am so afraid of falling foul of the benefits system, it is so complicated, it seems that being honest is harder, but I am very grateful, thank you. :T0
