VAT Registered?

I added Brassedoff to my ignore list some time ago because of the nonsense the user regularly posts on these boards. I would urge others to do likewise.

e.g. only authorised agents (or the business itself) may register that business for VAT.
To register online, I believe it needs access via the HMRC gateway to that particular business.
Registration could be instead made on paper.
In both cases, specific, usually commercially sensative information is required - something that would only usually be known to the business or their authorised agent.
Finally, in both cases, a declaration that the information given in the application (including any accompanying documents) is true and complete, and disclosure as to the capacity such declaration was given must also be disclosed (e.g. proprietor, company director/secretary, etc).
(I think the signed declaration on a paper application must be made by the appropiate business official, and not by an agent)
To knowingly make such declaration incorrectly would be fraud . To do so even once, let alone more than once, particularly involving HMRC, would be to say the least most foolhardy.0 -
