broken washing machine

My washing machine is just about 20 months old, and has just began to smoke! can i return the machine or get a refund as i don't think 20 months is a reasonable amount of time for a washing machine to last. Is there a time limit on when i can get a refund/replacmet?

Lots of things come into play here. It is nearly 2 years old. How much did you pay, where did you get it? What is the manufacturer and their warranty? Is this the first issue you've had and reported?0
