I went to buy some new Dylash this morning and could only find a product called 'dybrow' which is in the same packaging and marked 'previously dylash'. Content it was the same stuff I bought it, came home, started to mix it up then read
'Not to be used for dying lashes'
Oops.
Is there a new/alternative product available for dyeing eyelashes? I have fair eyelashes and don't like wearing mascara everyday, especially in summer. Most salon eyelash jobs aren't as good as I do myself, particularly as my eyelashes are not thick and i really need to catch every one I can, plus, they take ages to turn so I tend to do them more than once (not on the same day, but a week apart every few weeks.)

Hi,
I have white eyelashes and brows, so I always dye mine. I used the dybrow on my lashes and brows last week without reading the instructions so didn't realize that you shouldn't use it on lashes oopps lol, it was fine. Am guessing that maybe you just need to be extra careful about getting it in my your eyes maybe.
Hope this helps a little0 -
I'm a big fan of the Colorsport range. Range. :rotfl: Yeah, like two colours constitutes a wide 'range'......
Okay, I'm a big fan of Colorsport. Black for eyelashes and brown for eyebrows.
According to the Boots.com, Dylash is still around. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Thanks, I didn't know there was another range, I have always just grabbed what was there. I will try this one instead. Who knows it might be better.
Edit: especially I ally as the dybrow has barely worked at all. Very frustrating indeed.0 -
Thanks for the heads-up, i didn't realise they'd stopped doing the dylash. I will need to try and find a substitute brand now, grrr. I have been using the dylash eylure blue-black tint on my lashes for ages and was really pleased with it. Why do companies do this :mad:0

Tbc they do say on the dybrow packet 'previously known as dylash' and is probably the same stuff. There was only black, not blue black. I don't know why it wasn't effective, but its annoying that it wasn't. I normally get really good results and am frustrated not to have done so today.0 -
just spotted this one on amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eylure-Dylash-Mascara-Eyelash-Blue-Black/dp/B001M2H8SC/ref=pd_vtp_beauty_3
the packaging looks a bit different but it seems to be the same product. Might be worth you looking on there, OP, if you don't have any luck with the newer product.0 -
I use Dylash too and find it v good.
I wonder if it's a health and safety thing. You can really make your eyes sting if it gets in your eyes so perhaps they've had problems with people complaining? Perhaps you could look at the ingredient list and see if they've changed anything.
On a slightly different note, you are supposed to use an oil free cleanser on eye lashes first to remove any oil - what does everyone use for this? I never know and end up trying to use soap and water - also not good!

Just a warning ladies - if they have repackaged the item they may have altered the product slightly - PLEASE do a spot test 24 hours before dyeing. Eyes are too precious to risk.
To clean mine prior to dyeing I use No 7 oil free toner.
Other tip? Do one eye at a time, unless you have a friend helping!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
I don't tend to clean mine right before dying the lashes. As long as I've not been wearing any make-up it seems fine without using cleanser beforehand. You are right, the oils in the cleanser would form a kind of barrier and prevent the dye from taking to the eyelashes.
It's good advice to do a patch test before using the eyelash tint. I do a sensitivity test every time I get a new box of dye.
I do both my eyes at the same timeI put the dye on top of the lashes so it doesn't drip into the eyes.

I do mine one eye at a time after using cleaning. ( I was my face and then lightly cleanse each eye with my cleanser) Did this yesterday, and boo.
Re ingredients, I agree, I should have done a spot test. The ingredients in the liquid are the same (marked on the bottle) but I don't know about the paste. (Not marked that I could see on the tube)0
