Work in the pc repair industry?

Just wondering if anyone who works in the industry can help out. I've been doing all my own pc building, repair & maintenance for years now, frequently dishing out freebie help for friends etc. My current business is in the aerial trade and due to the nature of things I have started to expand to other areas. One of these is in full setup media systems, but along with that I figure there will still be a small market for domestic pc services.
The areas I have considered would be basic pc services such as system cleaning and checkups, upgrades & repairs of components.
I have a good grounded in just about all the larger name branded software and keep up to date on hardware changes purely for my own use. While I don't have any formal paperwork to say so, I generally feel I have a wider more competent knowledge than the services provided by the large high street retail employees.
However it is always nice to have a shiny badge or certificate for customer peace of mind, so does anyone already working in this industry have a list of the sort of certifications etc that will set me on good ground for this expansion? Also if do they tend to be study at home and online exam type courses or require a classroom attendance?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I know what you mean, I am very much educated through experience and know more than the average PC world employee, with that its not my main business and I happy just doing the bits I do.
I did look at going bigger and many pointed here:
