Morning All
I was featured on Watchdogs "Rogue Traders" last Thursday, Victim not a Rogue !!
It was regarding my TV which has been in for repair since Sep 2012.
At the end of the report, the guy I know as "Gary" said he would return my TV to me, the show was filmed 6 weeks ago, and I have heard nothing.
Should I start a Small Claims claim against the company ??
Help will be much appreciated, novice at consumer rights
Thanks

Have you sent him a letter before action yet?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

before you start using the Small Claims process you need to send a Letter Before Action, as has been suggested.
Head the letter 'Letter before action'.
Outline what you want (the return of the TV, as promised?) and give him a timescale within which to return it.
If he ignores or does not return the TV then you begin your small claim action.
A 'letter before action' is a final warning - the 'action' is pursuing through the courts; so you only send one letter!
A typical timescale is 14 days from the date of your letter. If you send it by recorded delivery retain the receipt;) - it's prudent to send such letters recorded!
Keep a copy of the letter and record any other information; details of phone calls etc. as you may need this if it does go to court.
If/when you go to court you will add the cost of bringing the action plus any other costs (such as sending letters by recorded delivery;) so keep detailed accounts!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

It was TV Hospital or one of the associated companies. (I saw the feature - it was the only part of the show I did see).
