Orange Card

Is this legal, Orange card did not renew card when it expired. When it was chased up they said that there would be a £5.00 charge as the card was not used 2 months prior to the expiry date. This was a condition when the card was taken out. They have taken £5.00 of the amount on the new card. Is there anything that can do to claw that £5.00 back. :T:T

I'm assuming you're talking about the Orange Prepaid Mastercard.

No. The terms and conditions are clear, and you agreed to the charge (which, imo, is reasonable, it costs money to produce cards, and they don't want to have lots of inactive cards).

Did not agree to the changes there was no option but to accept or loose the lot on the card. Not good for anyone that is on the breadline

So, you're asking whether it's legal for a Orange to enforce the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when you applied for the card?

Those Terms and Conditions are here. See 7.

I doubt it's illegal. Many other PAYG cards have a similar fee. Apart from appealing to their better nature, there's probably nothing you can do about it. :(

You did agree. You either agree or don't accept the card, thats all there is to it.

    Are you having a laugh?

You ask if something is legal, for the sake of a fiver, thus indicating that if you received responses that it wasn't then you'd go to the police about it or something.

    For a fiver?

    Really?

Yes you did, did you even read the T&Cs? I'd bet good money on it that the T&Cs state there is a fee. Don't get mad at Orange because you couldn't be bothered to check the contract you were signing when you signed up for the card.

I am not getting mad at anyone as you are so keen for me to do. This is not for me, it is for an a disabled person that paid £5 to get the card and now lost £5 for not using it and I expect the card will not be allowed to go under £5 therefore it has cost him so far £15.
