Chargeback?

Can anyone help explain how you do a chargeback if the item you receive from E-bay is not as advertised?
I have approached the seller for a refund but they refuse. I paid via PAYPAL using my credit card.
thanks

Try going to the paypal resolution centre and you should be able to file a claim there.
I guess that you never received the item? you may have received "another" item but not the one you bought.

Exactly - the item was sent but it did not match the description in any way. I've reported the seller to E-bay and to Trading Standards, they have now made their feedback private but apart from that are still selling counterfeit goods!!0

Hi, took the advice above and lodged a dispute - full refund given by seller and I've still got the item as Trading Standards asked me to retain it as evidence in case they pursue the case.
£19.49 back in my pocket and my complaint being taken seriously (apart from by Ebay who are doing nothing about removing her from the site)0 -
I bet Trading Standards don't pursue my complaint in the end - they said they are inundated with complaints about people selling fake designer goods on E-bay.
Its about time E-bay took steps to protect the honest buyers and sellers.0 -

Well said, but as long as they get their fees I don't think they worry too much.
With the profits they make, they could employ a team of people to check for suspect listings (copied software/dvd/cds, fakes, etc) and remove them. Instead they rely on the honest buyers/sellers to report such items and then take days to respond with an automated email, let alone do anything.0 -

The last few weeks I've taken it upon myself to clean up a sole category of ebay once a day. Since I began, ebay have pulled all the auctions I've reported within 24 hours (in fact i reported some late last night and they are all gone this morning). It probably takes me about 5/10 minutes to check and report the new listings in this category each day and I feel alot better knowing that I've done my part

Think you must get lucky if they pull them all stavros.
I reported some obvious ones last week and they were still there after a couple of days, not that it would dissuade me from reporting in the future.0 -

It wouldn't be mobile phones would it? There are tons of scams there! Have you also noticed that in a lot of the item titles for these phones the seller will put for example, "Samsung E700, NOT NOKIA, SONY", etc. In this way when someone puts in a search their phone will appear in other categories and not just Samsung. Apparently, this is not allowed and can be reported to Ebay too!0
