Not likely that anyone on here will be able to answer your question.

The company that they booked with will though, would be worth reading the t and c

the fact they werent told anything about the holiday depends wether they asked or not

If they can't cancel they may be able to swap hotels or resorts, its worth asking. Or ask how much to change names with a view to selling the holiday to someone else.

    Good luck op x

I don't understand why people ask these sorts of questions in here instead of a) looking at the terms and conditions of the booking, or b) calling the company they booked with. Nobody in here will be able to answer the question.

Or they could just be a pair of game old birds who know exactly what it is they've booked ;)

Or ask what the weather will be like in several months time.
    The professionals don't know either.

They don't apply to travel bookings.

To the OP you need to phone the agent and appeal to their good side. Very much doubt you'll be able to cancel if flights have been booked, but they may change the hotel and resort.

Of course she can cancel but I suspect the question you really want answwered is whether she can cancel without losing her money.
In reply I can only echo what others have said and that you advise your mum to do some checking before booking again
