Bank of Cyprus

Thinking of getting myself a small current account as a back up. I was looking at the Bank of Cyprus UK. I was wondering if they did a credit search at all?

Ouch... They have some heavy charges.....

Why not look at a basic bank account with one of the Uk banks.

I would guess that it would be a full search. Only one real way to find out and that is to ask them.

They do, and they are a very poor company to deal with. Most paying in is done via Lloyds tsb branch / post
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • I think it was a full one. It was a couple of years ago.

Never spotted the charges, but I've never done anything/requested a service that attracts a charge.

Lovely people on the phone. Internet banking is functional but a bit clunky. You can request a balance/ mini statement by text which can be handy.

Just ring them and ask re the credit search or apply anyway.

A lot of this agency banking has been done away with - check before proceeding if it is still available - if it is important to you.
