Did you ask on the Arbtalk forum? I can't help feeling that the mower man at B&Q probably doesn't have much of a clue really. The people on Arbtalk use chainsaws all day every day and there are one or two blokes that repair chainsaws for a living.

The thing is I'm only just back from holiday -where I used the saw- I have loads of crap to deal with at work and I just haven't got round to joining a new forum.... but I will, eventually, because it really needs some specialist advice..

And on top of that my computer is being a nightmare at the moment.
