Shafted by BT

I was talked out of cancelling my phone and broadband with BT as I felt I was paying too much for it per month (£59). After looking around I could see I could get a cheaper deal for exactly the same service but only costing £24pm.

The BT rep managed to talk me out of leaving them by moving me on to a new contract which reduced my monthly payment to just £29pm for 12 months. I accepted this offer but have now seen my first payment come out for £59 again. Fuming.

Just rang them up and have been told I cannot have the £45c on my account refunded, and nor can I have the difference between £29-£59 refunded either even though I have the paperwork with the £29pm payment plan.

Furthermore my monthly payment will now be £34pm???

Absolute joke of a company.

Maybe so, but replying to an unhappy customer would be a priority one thinks?

Anyway, i'm sure they'll be quick to contact me now as i've had the direct debit refunded with my rights under the DD Guarantee.

I'll quite happily pay the £29.10 as stated in the paperwork sent to me.

Computer may say no BT but we have rights and I have exercised mine. Enjoy some more bad press!

I am reading all the BT posts as I am currently thinking of leaving Virgin for them.

My landline has not been working all day, and as far as I remember I never had an outage problem like that with BT previously.

The pattern I am seeing here though is the BT representrative seems to pop into a thread and say he/she will help. Then seems to disappear from the thread completely. This does not fill me with confidence in returning to BT.
Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?

Nearly a whole year has gone by without a problem but alas not even BT can manage 12 months trouble free for this customer.

When I read on here about their price increase to previously free services, I cancelled them straight away. Voicemail, Caller ID and the Broadband phone.

I received my bill last week and on it were the charges for the broadband phone. This has seen my monthly direct debit increase by nearly £20. I've just been on the phone to customer services and they have said no order was received to cancel the broadband phone. Funny though how the other two were cancelled without a problem.

I know I cancelled it as I have never used it before and never intend on doing so.

Customer services won't be refunding me the £8.53 but would cancel the service for me from today which would stop the £10.50 advanced fee. I've not accepted that as I know I cancelled it prior to the service being charged for. I should be refunded £19.03. Customer services refused and so I have no other option but to cancel the increased £53 direct debit due to come out next week as this has only been increased to cover the payment for something I had cancelled. Great work BT.

Just gone and done the best thing and cancelled my whole BT contract with them. They'll not be getting a single penny more from me. Even my new provider is willing to pay the early contract cancellation fee's. I feel great.
