Out of hours Bus lane Parking

I have lived at my address for 3 years and never had a problem parking over the weekend until yesterday morning (Saturday)

The big blue bus lane sign in front of my flat states

bus, cycle and taxi lane

Monday-friday
7.30-9.30am
3.30-6.30pm

There is a single yellow line outside my flat which I have always parked on outwith these hours

Yeterday I had a parking PCN
'parking contravention 02 ha occurred at 9.01 waiting, loading or unloading when prohibited'

Confused Someone then pointed out there was a sign further down the road only about 50 feet and quite high on a lamp post

no Parking or loading
Mon-SAT
7.00-9.30am
4.00-6.30pm

I don't know if this counts as conflicting information as technically the bus lane times don't say I can park there at other times.

The signs do conflict as
between 3pm and 3.30 the parking sign says I can park but at that time it is a bus lane?

But this isn't when I parked so I don't know if this counts.

As I have said I have never in the 3 years had a problem with saturday parking until yesterday. I do not know if the Monday-Saturday sign is new as I have never noticed it before but from where I park to my flat I do not go past it so I wouldn't have seen it anywhere.

It might be worth also noting that I noticed after getting the ticket that all the other bus signs down the road actually say Mon-Sat I have also never noticed this before.....

Seems my observation skills might not be that great after all

Worth appealing? Anyone have any idea's how to 'spin' this?

First take phots of all of the signs that you have mentioned in your posting.

    Then sign up on Pepipoo,
    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?act=idx

I'm not familiar with Pepipoo but I believe there is a subsection there for council tickets etc.

EVERY single Council PCN is worth appealing!! Every time. Post here with PICTURES:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

As you will see by reading a few other similar thread there first, you will need to show them pics of all pages of the ticket and also the place (lines & signs) even if just linked from GoogleStreetView. Show pepipoo every letter and reply as you get it - and in the end almost everyone wins their appeal.

Difficult to say without knowing the location or seeing the signs.

But my interpretation is that the bus lane is in operation during the time indicated on the signs. It follows therefore, that there should be a parking loading restriction to correspond with the times the bus lane is 'live'.

What is slightly unclear is why the bus lane is in force Mon to Fri but the corresponding parking/loading restriction is Mon to Sat.

Having said that, it may be the case where the parking/loading restriction has nothing to do with the bus lane at all.

As I said, need the location.

It seems that the bus lane sign at this set of parking spaces hasn't been updated when the rest of the street has been therefore the parking sign doesn't match the bus lane sign.

(I have no idea when the other signs were changed but I'm going with years by the state of some of the other signs on the street)

Maybe I have just been lucky not getting a ticket for so long....

The parking restrictions are only there to restrict the bus lane live times there is no other reason for them to be there.

I posted a thread on PEPIPOO without photos but no one seems to be much help...

So what do you expect? I've already said that without actually seeing the signage and/or the bus lane, no one can accurately advise.

If you give the location, we maybe able to check Street View.

Pepipoo without photos is like bread without butter. Bump it with a reply with photos.

Sorry guys I didn't realise photo's were essential since I gave the bus sign information and the no loading sign info, I thought this would be enough

I had actually posted it on there before anyone had replied on here hence the no photo's ( I didn't know what to expect to be honest)

If you want our advice, then we need to see what we are talking about. I can only stick to what I said in post #4 with your info so far.

You don't necessarily have to post images yourself but we could do with the location to check street view.

    However, this may be useful to you;

Thanks for your help on this, after looking into this a bit further it seems this bus lane for the most part directly where I parked won't be covered by a traffic order as the bus lane is actually

    Mon-SAT
    7.00-9.30am
    4.00-6.30pm

as per the rest of the street.

but again I don't know if my ticket is for 'parking in a bus lane' or 'ignoring' the no parking/no loading signs

on google the post code is g31 3rn -
the sign on cumbernauld road, as if you're on todd street turning left onto cumbernauld road

Again thank you for your time and effort

All roads and bus lanes are covered by a Traffic Order.

And we do need photos of the PCN - TBH you are far better to simply add pics in a reply on your pepipoo thread because that's where most of the Bus Lane appeal experts are. I am not one of them.
