No Signal

Hiya everyone, wondered if someone could help me.

Every once in a while my pc, reboots itself and switches off to No Signal, at first it was just the monitor doing this, although now the whole system seems to be shutting itself down.

Any idea what this could be? Thanks in advance.

    No, i don't think it's that.

Even when i haven't been using it during the day, i could switch it on and the problem still persists.

It could overheat quite quickly if the CPU fan in not working i.e. within minutes.

    Thanks for the reply.

My uncle is a pc technician so i'll ask him to have a look for me.

Pretty sure it's not the fan though as surely the pc would automatically switch off without the error message appearing.

The no signal error message comes from the monitor, not the PC
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Yeah i know that. what i'm trying to say is that if the system is overheating then it would close altogether without the error message appearing.

I had that problem with another pc, the error message never appeared on that.

If you pull the monitor lead out, the same message will appear, so the PC crashing is not connected to the message.

When was the last time the pc was cleaned inside. You might want to check up on the build up of dust on the fans inside etc.
