CCJ....6 years

Options
Hi all,

I had a ccj taken out against me almost 6 years ago 13/6/07 according to the info on my Experian and Equifax credit report. I paid the amount off in full monthly but the settled/unsettled dates are blank on both credit reports.

When should I expect the judgement to disappear from my credit history? is it 6 years from when the judgement was made against me or 6 years from the debt being settled?

Many thanks

6 years from the original judgement date, whether it is marked as satisfied/settled or not.

Noddle updates monthly, Equifax about the same and Experian is usually instant.

Noddle does but I'm not sure which day. I'm not sure if they do it the same day for everyone or if it's on the anniversary of your account opening or what.

Equifax, again not sure about these. I know that when I recently had some incorrect information removed, they removed it within about about three days of my complaint being upheld by the bank. I've read so many times that Equifax take the longest to update their reports, so I think I was the exception rather than the rule.

Equifax removed an item for me within 48 hours of the bank telling me they would correct an error.

Noddle update normally on the monthly anniversary for you although last week they updated EVERY DAY for me for some strange reason!!!

    Experian are normally instant.

Think I'll give Experian a couple of days and I'll check Equifax at the end of the month.

I've not had any defaults or mishaps since the ccj so will my credit score be good when its removed or will I be starting from scratch? hoping to get a mortgage towards the end of the year

Who knows? Your files are just one part of the equation - the Electoral Register, and policies of the actual enquirer play a big role in the process, which is why paying a CRA for its score data is nonsensical.

Apparently I've been on the electoral role for 10 years according to Equifax but don't you have to be 18 to vote? I'm 26.

Havent bothered paying for the score data, I just go for the £2 reports

You generally go on some months before or after your 17th birthday.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'
