Hi All
I have a member of my family who is planning to travel to USA and I have found that Thomas Cook can provide a Pre Load Travel Money Card, has anyone used these, looking for feedback on the pros and cons.
Many thanks

It will probably be expensive compared to the alternatives. Have a read of this article:

P.S. Not really a topic for the student board.0 -
Hi
I will check out the link but compared to everything else I have looked at this is the cheapest way by far compared to international tranfers and getting a bank in USA. As this is to do with a Student I posted under what looked to be the most common sense subject matter, feel free to give you opinion where you would have put it so I can get more replies.
Many thanks for your time0 -

We are going on holiday soon, and we have opted for a Halifax clarity card. I'm not sure if this would be suitable but maybe worth looking at.

You need flights currency and car hire in the overseas travel forum
For a holiday in the US bank transfers and a local account are normally massive overkill
For living in the US the situation may be different - but all you've mentioned is planning to travel to USA . Not very informative if you want a considered answer.
Travel Money cards in general are convenient and fashionable, but in general not cheap - the Thomas Cook one is definitely not among the cheap ones.0
