Very confused about my CHAPS payment. Could do with some help.

I am on a Nationwide Flex Account. I needed to transfer £10 to a friend who is a non-nationwide account holder. Due to the fact my bank does not supply a service for this type of transfer I had to use the CHAPS service. Being an idiot I went straight through with it, no idea that there was a fee for these types of payments. It has not transferred yet as it is a Saturday although I am concerned. This is because I only have £7 in my bank account. What on earth am I meant to do now as I cannot pay the transfer fee which is about £25 I believe.

Nationwide do supply that service. For free...
I call troll. There's no way Nationwide would have let you do a CHAPS payment for that amount without telling you it was a waste of money.urs sinserly,

Pull the other one.
No bank/BS would accept a CHAPS for £10, and certainly not when there is less than a tenner in the account.
Other than that, it is complete rubbish that Nationwide "does not supply a service" for transfers to non-Nationwide accounts.
You can't even rely on the quality of trolls these days.
EDIT: JJ beat me to it0 -

It would only let me transfer to another nationwide account. But what actually happens now ? I can't overdraft on my account so will the payment just get cancelled as I can't pay the fee.0 -

It said 'Your payment is being processed.' I'm hoping that it isn't so I can just do it by pay pal rather than my !!!!!! bank.0 -

There is no history of me even making this payment on my online statement neither has the money been deducted yet. So I am assuming the payment hasn't even been sent ?0 -

When I have used CHAPS previously it has only gone through on the same day if it was made before 2/3pm.
Some banks also have a £20 approx. charge for cancelling a CHAPS paymentDEBT FREE AT LAST!
