I am expecting a payment today and it was done via a HSBC account but the person who paid is now saying it will show tomorrow.
Is this normal for HSBC as i bank with Natwest and its instant 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

....probably be paid next week now when they have the money to pay you!!!
Ask why the delay as payments are usually instant!!!I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -

In my experience it has been more or less immediate 24/7
I have made payments on a Sunday evening and it's been more or less immediate!0 -
I sen payment from First Direct last night and it arrived at a Natwest account pretty quickly (the account holder reported it there 30 minutes after I sent it). This was a new payee as well.
However all Faster Payments can be liable to be looked at by the bank, to make sure that everything is in order e.g. your life savings are not being transferred to Nigeria at 2a.m. etc. There is a notice on your payment confirmation that any payment will arrive by the end of the next working day, even though most payments are instant these days. It could be caught up in that. If you're nervous, ask for a screen shot of their statement or something.0
