Section 75 refund - how long until refunded?

Evening,

Does anyone know how long a section 75 refund takes?

I have sent the form off and they advise 30 days to respond to our request. Do they refund straight away and then claim the money back off the company we are complaining about?

My section 75 claim took longer than 30 days.

I guess it will depend on how easy your claim is to investigate, and how efficient the card provider is.

Experience here is that CCs will often come back with more questions/demands. Bear in mind that usually the banks have to foot the bill for S75 so there is little incentive to get moving - particularly as some cardholders will simply give up if the process is strung out enough. Of course some cardholders don't have valid claims so some investigation is reasonable.

If you provide some more info we may be able to better advise.

S75 is not about your card provider claiming money back from the company. That is a chargeback.

S75 can take months to be resolved. Depending on how much info you have provided.
Refund will only be when its finished and odds on you will have to sign a Full and final settlement letter before its processed.
