New York - Marathon - Nov 2013

Well I have managed to get in the NEw York Marathon so I need to plan my holiday over there.

I am going to stay for a week.

Looking at flights, its going to be about £500 (economy)

Hotels - I was considering staying in LIC but not sure if it will be better on Manhatten. Def dont fancy times square for a week though.

Any one got any experience, tips etc will be much appreciated :)

You can get some sub £400 flights if you travel Tues - Tues. http://soa.li/4mJ9Hvl or for a tenner over £400 you can get some with a really short stop http://soa.li/ulRaF9W , defo worth thinking about.

Other than that, try priceline for hotels, you can get some pretty good deals.

Never tip in the US they think it's very rude. The only people you should tip are the officers at the immigration desk. $20 in your passport should do the trick.

PS. I'm only joking (about the immigration bit) especially if you are allergic to latex.

Have you looked at packages? Sometimes can come in cheaper with a better hotel. What date are you going? and where from? And your budget?

ideally going on the friday and staying until the Friday after, it will time better with the marathon as dont want to do too much site seeing before marathon as want to save feet. So excited! Trying to weigh up if I should wait for flights or book them now.

    Cheers for replies all x

  • Book now, they'll just get more expensive, especially from Manchester.

https://www.skyscanner.net is your friend. Use the whole month tool to view a graph of the cheapest dates.
