Mispriced Tickets

I have just renewed a season ticket for my favourite football team and all the way through the online booking process the final amount always showed £0.00 in the basket. I did not get asked for any credit card details.
Even when the confirmation showed £0.00 and said you have now purchased your ticket.
Now I know this ticket should cost between £500 and £600 but its their mistake.
What do I do next? Sit and wait and hope they haven't realised the mistake or start saving up for when they do find the mistake?

    You will probably get an email cancelling the transaction or asking for the correct payment

    They'll find their mistake at some point, put the cash somewhere you can get at it for when that time comes, don't be tempted to spend it.

    Why not contact them and tell them about their mistake? You might get a goodwill gesture :)

    It's an obvious error. They can't hold you to the actual price because you never agreed to it, but basically your options are:

    - Try your luck and see if they send it. You never know.
    - Alert them to their mistake and get them to charge you correctly
    - Buy a season ticket by phone or in person, and keep the online order active. If the gamble pays off, you have two season tickets.

    It never hurts to take a chance, but there is a very slim chance of them fulfilling the order (and always the risk of them cancelling the ST if they realise their mistake after fulfilling it, which would almost certainly be allowed in this case). If you definitely want a ST, it's worth making sure you've paid for it.

    Are you sure you weren't just reserving a pre-order of your ST? If you were, they'll be in touch when they release them asking you to pay then.

    Out of interest, would a consumer be allowed to cancel if they say accidentally ordered two tickets rather than one? Obviously morally you shouldn't expect to get a ticket for nothing, but I've seen a lot of people who have made mistakes when ordering things and been told they had to live with it.

    No - a consumer would not be allowed to cancel. Try that on any travel website to see the response!

    Yes, exactly. It would be unfair if the seller can correct their mistakes but not the consumer.

    Normally yes, but when the price is £0.00 it's very easy for the supplier to argue that it's a clear error and they shouldn't be held to it.

    Also, a contract requires consideration on both parties - for a season ticket, that would usually be that the ground makes a seat available for the customer to be disappointed in each week (maybe just my team?) in exchange for a wedge of cash. In this case, the buyer has not made any consideration, so it could be argued that no contract actually exists.
