Has anyone got the Capital One Aspire Elite?

Just worked it out and on a £10k spend, with all of the above factored in, assuming you max the intro bonuses and minus the annual fee:
Amex total CB: £220 (I don't know where the MSE article's £193 comes from...)
CO total: £140.
Clearly if you're spending significantly more, the Cap One will catch up eventually but you need to do over £15,000 to get the 2%. And if you're doing this I can't be bothered to work out the hypothetical results when taking into account the Amex 2.5% bonus for spending over £10k!0 -
I rang up Capitol One to ask what is defined as business expenses for the Aspire Business card and was told that's just a name, you can still use the card for personal use and still get cashback.
I rang up a second time and was told it's for business expenses only (as stated on the website), and won't pay cashback for shops and supermarkets.
Can anyone who has this card clarify?
Thanks0 -
i had a CapOne Cashback card, which i hit really hard for a couple of years
i found their CS to be dire until you get through to Nottingham.0 -
Capital One would prefer those with poor or bad credit, as its their way to make money, The good credit people will pay off their bills on time every month, they dislike this.0

you have a point, in that CapOne choose to be in this sector of the market.
but the Aspire Elite is very much at the other end. not sure how it is doing for them though.0 -

But they don't like the sort of people who don't pay off their debts, the sort who rake up a balance near their credit limit, before querying to see if they can see copies of the credit card agreement etc and not paying.
A CC company likes the users who put everything on their CC and pays off in full, they can't make any money in interest, but they make the money in CC fees charged to the retailers.0 -

they do...but they certainly make money from interest too, and CapitalOne do operate in the sector where this is even more prevalent, as opposed to, for example, Amex.0 -

I doubt that wouldn't be breaching the T&Cs!
You could be a sole trader, working for yourself. Most likely the business name could be your own name

What if your business expenses involve buying goods from supermarkets? Lots of goods bought from supermarkets, especially larger ones could be used for business expenses e.g. cafe owners may bulk buy certain supplies (such as oil, canned drinks, coffee), taxi drivers buy their fuel, (Tesco also do tyres!), they also sell stationery, computers and other electronic equipment.0
