Bargain Travelodge Covent Garden

Just booked a family room here for 3 nights in August for £26 per room! Total £78. :j

Most other hotels we looked at in Central London wanted £100+ per night.

Every time I've looked before the price for this particular Travelodge has always been £95 per room.

So with the £200 I've saved I can see a couple of West End shows coming!!

They have taken payment from me today so I would imagine I have a rock solid contract in case they still overbook people.

I've stayed here for £26 - its great.

One piece of advice - arrive early. Although you do indeed have a contract with them, the complaints to watchdog had exactly the same contract - prepaid and were still told the hotel is full. Travelodge then directed them to the nearest alternative. Seemed to me that the people who were told the hotel is full arrived very late at night. Whenever we stay at a Travelodge we always try and check in early afternoon. They say you cannot check in before 3pm - but we always have.

Enjoy your nights - it is really central and fine for a few nights in the city.

I often stay there with my daughter .Recently, just after midnight on our second night, a couple came into our room - they had a key. We showed the night staff our booking confirmation and went back to sleep. No idea what happened to the other couple. That was a one-off though. The lodge is perfectly situated being very close to Tottenham Court Rd tube and several busses will drop you off 50 yds away. I`m going again this weekend. Don`t forget your oyster card.
  • I agree with others about checking into the Travelodge early because of their overbooking policy.
I am sure you will enjoy your stay. What West End plays do you plan on seeing? I can recommend Stomp! (I have seen it three times) and the Billy Elliott musical.

Last time I saw ''We will rock you'' which was great -(tickets from half price ticket booth in Leicester Square).

I did see ''Mamma Mia'' years ago but I was right at the back so would like to see it again.
I like to see one musical and one comedy so we'll see what's available nearer the time.
I definately won't be paying Keith Prowse/Ticketmaster prices with additional charges added on!

i have stayed here, one warning, we stayed last summer after it had just opened, there is no air con, it was like an oven and they only have a few fans, so we toasted! but for £26 it was a bargain!

We stayed here just after it had opened - also on a £26 deal. Fab - have a great time. Check in early is the answer - plus you can off load your bags and then 'hit' the town.

NB - I wouldn't bother with breakfast there - there are loads of places nearby that do a better (and cheaper) brekkie - and if you like bagels, you're in for a great time!!
