At the end of my tether!!

Hello

Had a complaint in, now for 13w

Rung on mutiple times - call goes to team abroad and having trouble understanding them

They are aware its w13 and keep telling me its been escalated and promising call backs which dont happen.

Various letters from me by recorded post and emails to CEO dont seem to be getting anywhere

Should I hang fire or straight to FOS?

Advice gratefully received. Thx

    Who are you complaining to, have they responded at all, did you respond to their rejection letter, have you actually complained.

    A bit more info is needed.

    If you go to FOS be prepared for an even longer wait. Their backlog is huge, you're probably looking at 13 months, not 13 weeks. I'd hang on a bit longer if i were you !

    Yep I have complained.
    Got letter with ppi ref on it from halifax

    Heard nothing after 8 weeks - its still in progress, we've escalated it blah blah.

    No final decision letter

    I chase them twice weekly but just get the same story

    As meer says, you can now refer it to the FOS if you like but may be waiting up 18 months.

    As mentioned, if you go to the FOS, you will be waiting longer for the refund. You say you have tried a CEO complaint, that normally gets expedited, but consider my next paragraph.

    I am always puzzled as to why people are constantly ringing up, chasing the refund. You get 8% simple interest added, so the longer it takes the more you will get.

    Unless you are really desperate for the money, just be patient.

    I've just had a small refund where the interest was more that 50% of the premium paid. :)

    Thanks. It wd just be nice to get a decision out of them. Not too worried about when they pay out.
    My rant is more with the fact that they still havent made a decision

    Good luck, but if they are anything like us, they tend to err on the side of the customer.

    Of course I only get to see the people we are paying:)

    And if they do say no, then is the time to go to the FOS, but let them know you intend to do that before you actually do, as that can be enough to make them change their mind, as friends of mine did with another bank.
