Repossessed house

Probably a stupid question but here it is anyway
If someone buys a repossessed house, how would they be able to get the electrics checked by a survey if the electricity supply has been cut off to the house? Do the surveyors have some kind of gadget that can test the electrics without the need for the house to be connected up to the electricity supply?

Most surveyors are not qualified to check electrics and recommend you get a specialist in to check them.0

Gas and electricty checks are done seperately, so dont reply on surveyor for that.0

As above, only an electrician can check electrics.
But no, there is no 'gadget'.
If the electrics are cut off (as is common with repos) then you cannot check. A sparkie could do a 'visual check', but that is all.
Likewise a gas engineer will be unable to check the boiler etc
(and plumber likewise. When the water is switched back on, it may leak, it may not work, the drains might be blocked....)0 -
An electrician is looking at the quality of cabling and consumer unit. These do not rely on the supply being connected.I am a mortgage broker.
