Signing off

Hi all,

After 4 months searching I have received and accepted a job offer.

I don't start for a couple of weeks and have a sign on day a couple of days before I start.

Can anyone conform when I actually sign off? I obviously won't be job searching for the next two weeks so do I tell the JC now or do I tell them just before I start?

Thanks all.

    Congratulations!

I wasn't sure when it happened to me, so I kept up the show of looking for work, just in case. I then told them on my last signing on day, and was able to complete all the paperwork for signing off at the same time,.

you have to still keep on looking for a job as you dont know what will happen from now to when the job start. You sign off the day you start work, i did this and everything was ok.
  • Have you received your new contract? If you haven't, just tell your adviser that you have been offered a job but are still waiting for your contract as a confirmation. That's what I did, and they kept me signed on, although I still had to keep applying for jobs in the interim.

You sign off the day you start your new job and not before.

is that not the day before? You can not claim after that. Id take my booklet back in on the day before you start work if I was you and hand it in , in person to them and they will do what they need to do there

I was under the impression it was strictly day before, that is when your claim ends

Sign on as usual and keep 'looking' for work. On the last appointment before start date request to sign off and the claim will stop the day before you start. There is no need to go in to specifically sign off.
  • I'm also claiming JSA and have just been accepted into beauty college.
I need to bring proof that I'm in receipt of JSA but once I've started the course will I be able to sign off JSA, without any interference with the tuition fee? (Which will be paid for me)
Can't find information about this anywhere! Help
Really don't want to be on JSA.
