DHL tracking number number incorrect: Item coming from china

Hi guys, I have an parcel coming from china and the seller says he's shipped it on the 29th may, I've been trying to track it ever since but to no avail.
The tracking number is: 8807980694

DHL international are 10 digit format, so it could be correct, just not entered the system yet, bearing in mind the weekend.0

I think some carriers don't start the tracking until they have scanned it at some point. Your sender will have printed out labels so will have the tracking number before DHL come to pick up the parcel. Hopefully there will some tracking to see on Monday.0

I agree.

Also, some Chinese companies will give any old 10-digit number and wait for you to actually *ask* for the right tracking number. Probably just quicker for them to copy and paste one number for all packages and to appear to be shipping quicker.
Try asking the seller 'Hi, that tracking number appears to be having problems - please could you check it for me?'0 -
many thanks guys, I asked seller to double check if they've given me the right one, they have said yes it is. Be patient it will show on the system soon.

It is only Monday. It may not be collected until today - the seller could have been packing items and marking as dispatched before they are collected, give it another 48 hours or so. I hope you manage more patience once it is actually in transit!0
