Oh btw, is it a new Audi A3. If so, the vehicle resets need to be completed by an Audi approved centre or Audi dealer as it will need to be reset by VWG's ODIS technology, no independent garage will be able to do it.0

Hey all again,
I called the garage first thing this morning and they said its probably a sensor and they will call me on monday when the mechanic is in , ive not yet mentioned about the orange peel paint i will do this on monday.
I didnt get a say in the garage its the local one "accidents happen" use.
Also the car is a 2005 model so its not the latest , im unsure if they are audi certified or whatever but ill keep everyone posted. thanks again0 -
Well said Sussexbhoy, I too have experience of VWG paint & body approval and it is by far the hardest approval to attain and maintain. I don't know what Chanz4 is on about, he or she probably thinks that insurance approved centres are audited annually on their ability to repair cars!
OP
It was your right to have your vehicle repaired but your insurance company would not have told you about this as they would much prefer to 'steer' you into one of their 'approved' centres. When I say 'approved' this just means that they have signed an agreement with the insurer to repair your vehicle at very low rates in return for volume. Your insurance company may well have an agreement with the centre to repair your vehicle for a fixed price, so it was very much in the bodyshops interest to repair your car as quickly as possible and cut corners. They will probably have used non genuine parts to reduce costs as well. You might want to check this out with the bodyshop and the insurer.
If you are happy to return to the bodyshop then it will probably be the easiest and most cost efffective route for rectification but if you have no confidence in their abilities, you can demand your insurer takes it to your chosen centre and pays them to rectify. If you let me know which area you live, i can point you to an Audi approved centre.
Lastly, Audi have launched a new product called ensurance to give customers like you an accident management service and they will ensure it goes to an audi approved centre and the best bit is it's free. you just need to register at insurewithaudi.co.uk
Ill take it back on monday and if not ill let you know , i am in Sheffield?
Thanks0 -
Hi OP
Accidents Happen are a brand of WNS Assistance. They are an accident management firm. They aren't overly generous with their rates, so repairers need to fix cars quickly and turn around a lot of volume in order to make a profit from their contract. This inevitably leads to clumsy errors like the missed warning lights and the orange peel paint defect. You should insist that either the body shop or WNS take your vehicle to an Audi dealer and have the vehicle connected to their diagnostic system as not all errors illuminate warning lights on the dashboard.
Audi approved centres in or around Sheffield are JCT600 in Hillsborough. They were formally known as Gilders Volkswagen.
A little further afield is Advance Accident Repairs in Chesterfield.
Good luck0 -

I have a machine that resets the errors, for VW, Audi, Skoda and few others. Its like when you change doors it sets the error and all you do is connect under the dash and reset warnings . Don't need to be main dealer todo thatDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Hey again,
Rang the garage up yesterday after they never rang me back...
"hello we have ordered a abs sensor but we are thinking it may be the other side as the wheel bearing needed replacing at that side too" (they rang me up half way through the repair and wanted an extra £80 to do this but i said no)
So i said why would it be that side if it was fine before you touched it ? and also why did you even touch that side if the damage was on the complete other side ? also im unhappy with this orange peel paint?
and his response was
"ermm... uhhh?? ok well we will ring you when we get the abs sensor , dont stop driving the car it will be fine we will be in touch"
Ill give them this week to get back to me and if they dont ill be contacting the insurance0 -
Its up to you but i would contact Accidents Happen (WNS) and make them aware now. They will be supplying the garage with a considerable amount of work, work the garage will not want to lose, so the garage will want to resolve your complaint quickly.
It also sounds like they are guessing at the problem.0 -
Hi again,
So its got to thursday and id not heard anything so i thought ive had a enough ,
rang accidents happen told them the story , they said they would be contacting the garage.
10 mins later the garage rings , telling my to bring my car in as its here.
So i took it to them at 8:20 the next day .. i work in town where the garage is so i left it with them until i finished work.
by 5pm when i finished i had had 3 calls from them first one asking me when i could pick up because they close at 4 , they then offered to drop the key off in reception of where i work.
second call was saying they cant do that now so ill have to come and fetch it and theyve left the key with some other company across the road but they close at 6
then another call telling me they close at 5:30....
So i got the car back , yes the lights have gone off the dash but the paint is not a single bit different and when i mentioned it to the bloke he was rude.
He also tried blaming the ABS and ESP light on a failed wheel bearing on the other side of the car which the offered to replace for £80 and i declined
On another note the other back wheel bearing has failed and they offered to replace it at £80 which i then said no as it wasnt like that before the accident.(they werent very happy about that)
So.. i need the paint sorting and the wheel bearing sorting and im getting fed up now what should i do!
Thankyou for being bothered to read this!0
