Ppi, 5 months to re-issue a cheque

Hello,
In November 2012, I finally (after 2yrs of waiting) recieved a settlement from Barclaycard relating to a ppi claim. For some unknown reason the cheque was sent to my old address. When I contacted them to chase up the cheque I was told to provide evidence of my new address ( which they already had) in order to re-issue a cheque. After doing this in early January 2013 I was told I would have the funds within 8weeks. I have called their 'help' line well over 20 times since January to chase it up. I am constantly fobbed of with classic call centre phases like "it's being processed", "its in the system" or "it's in it's final stages" when I challenge them on the meaning of such phrases I am met with "there is nothing more I can do"
Three weeks ago I was finally told it had been sent, the cheque will take upto ten days. Still no cheque, after today's conversation I was told it had not been sent , he had no idea why i was told it had been posted and that it was in its final stages!!! Can it really take 5 months to change the address on a cheque? It seems to me like another trick to gather interest on my money.
Please help!!
